The Maon daycare service in Beit Shemesh caters to infants and toddlers ages 0-3, operating from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM and accommodating groups of 25-30 children. It provides two hot meals daily and remains open year-round, with the exception of about two weeks off in the summer and legal holidays, making it ideal for working parents. The monthly cost ranges from 900 to 3,700 ILS, determined by a sliding scale based on income, with 900 ILS being the minimum cost even with all subsidies. Families may be eligible for subsidies, including Kollel families. Discounts are also offered according to the number of children a family has and their income, provided both parents are either working or in school. Proof of income through Israeli pay stubs are required. This service ensures reliable care with consistent hours and promotes social interaction among children in a large group setting.

Children who turn three by the end of December are eligible to transition to gan, with boys having the option to begin gan shalosh (3years old) in a cheder and girls starting formal schooling in kitah alef (1st grade). Until then, girls can attend an irya (municipal) gan, which may offer instruction in Hebrew or in English until halfway through gan arba (4years old), at which point they transition to Hebrew. It is crucial to consider the intended elementary school when choosing a gan to ensure continuity; for example, if you plan to enroll your daughter in a Bais Yaakov school or your son in a Cheder, you need to select specific ganim that align with the requirements and expectations of these schools. This careful selection helps ensure a smooth educational journey for your child.
